My first time at Orly Airport – 2013 France Real Time Part 2

2013 France real-time

Arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport at 4am local time, it’s still a dark and cold morning in Paris. The weather looks good.

Even though I was sitting in the back seat, I got through immigration early and my luggage came out fairly quickly, so I was able to get out within 15 minutes of arriving.

Now, from here, we connect to Ajaccio in Corsica, but actually, Corsican Airlines to Ajaccio does not depart from Charles de Gaulle Airport.

You will be departing from Orly Airport, another airport in Paris.

I’ve been to Paris many times, but this is my first time to use Orly airport. I heard that the first bus leaves at around 6 o’clock in the morning.

But it seemed to take about 90 minutes, and the departure time was 8:30, so I didn’t want to get caught up in the morning rush and be late again.

The journey to Orly was smooth, and as it was early in the morning, it was empty, and I think it took about 30 minutes.

It’s only 5:00… It’s too early.

I think 70 euros is slightly higher than expected. I would have gone by bus if I had the time.

I asked the taxi driver, South? West? I didn’t know which was Corsica Air, so he dropped me off at South, but unfortunately Corsica Air was at West.

There was a shuttle from South to West, but it didn’t start running until 6:00, so we had to wait while we had breakfast.

In the meantime, I stopped by a convenience store at the airport to buy a prepaid SIM, but I was rejected at the gate.

In fact, I brought PocketWi-Fi that I used to use with Emova, and I wondered if I could use it because it’s SIM free.

It’s true that I rent Wi-Fi from Global Data, but I’m getting stopped soon because of the strict capacity limit recently. So we want to secure the Wi-Fi source as much as possible.

Apparently, the ones sold at the airport convenience stores are for phone calls and SMS, not for internet or MMS.

The complicated thing is that the SIM that can only be used for phone calls and SMS is called a micro SIM.

At first I thought it was the SIM of iPhone5 or a small type, because I was visiting various places while showing my iPhone, but it seemed to be different.

It’s true that I don’t have any language skills, but this requires a different kind of understanding…

Well, while I was struggling with three shops like this, the time passed quickly and it was time to check in, and then it was time to show up.

It’s a 1 hour and 30 minute flight.
