Fujinokuni CYCLE FES. 2011 in Shin-Tomei “Cycling while seeing Mt.

09. Sportscycling

As I have reported before, on the 27th, I participated in the Fuji-no-Kuni CYCLE FES. 2011 in Shin-Tomei “Cycling while looking at Mt.

I woke up at 5 a.m. on the day. Even so, it was only 20 minutes away from my parents’ house where I was staying, so I guess it was still good.

As this is a very popular event, it was expected to be very crowded on the day, but it may not have been as crowded as we thought. However, it was not as crowded as I expected.

Here’s a shot of the registration desk. There were a lot of people, but Numazu SA was spacious enough and the information was easy to understand, so we were able to complete the registration very smoothly.

I did have to pedal my bike about 5km from the parking lot to the registration desk, though.

The pamphlet and bib I got at the registration.

And these are the team costumes we went to the trouble of creating for today!

First, the front side!

Yes, we are the members who met at twitter orchestra. The name of our team is “Sagicharius”, which is a play on that orchestra’s name “Sagittarius”.

This is the back side!

By the way, we have another kind of team wear. That one is pink. It’s very cool too.

We had a little time before the start, so we all waited for a while at the SA area. There were a lot of booths and stalls, so we didn’t get bored while waiting.

We ended up starting around 9:30. There were many people, but the start was quite smooth. Even so, there were thousands of people, so we were divided into dozens of groups and staggered start.

As for the cycling, we were blessed with good weather all the time, and I think it was easy to ride overall. There were a lot of people stopping to take photos at the many view points that were set up.

The day before the race, there were still some bumps on the highway that were dangerous, but I don’t think it would have been much of a problem if you were just cycling along.

In the end, it was after 2:00 in the afternoon when we came back to the finish line in SA again.

The ups and downs were tougher than I expected and I was pretty exhausted. I might have underestimated it a little…

I was very hungry afterwards, so I had a super metabolic meal of ramen and fried chicken (lol). All the calories I had consumed were wasted by this….

It was a great experience for me, although I still have some issues with my physical strength. I had a lot of fun! I love bicycles even more now.

このようなイベントを教えてくださったチームのみんなに改めて感謝です。また一緒に走りに行きましょう!お疲れ様でした。
