The main theme of this GW trip was a trip to the “Pilgrimage Route of Santiago de Compostela” in Spain, and I met very impressive Gaudi’s architecture in the cities “Astorga” and “Leon” on the way.

The first one is Astorga.

The city is home to the Bishop’s Palace of Astorga, designed by Gaudi.

Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures inside, but it was very nice with a wonderful design that reminded us of Gaudi.

It looks more like a castle than an archbishop’s mansion, doesn’t it? But I heard it was unpopular at the time…

Then there is León.

This is also a city on the pilgrimage route. The cathedral is also famous, but a few minutes away from the cathedral is this “Casa de los Botines”.

It is still used as a normal bank. I mean, it is a bank, so I didn’t mean that I could go sightseeing inside.

Of course, I have visited the works in Barcelona many times, but I am appreciating them anew.

I learned about Gaudi from an adventure game when I was in junior high school, and coincidentally, the Barcelona Olympics were held a few years later, and I became more and more interested in Gaudi.

バルセロナ以外でもこのような素晴らしいガウディ作品と出会えて非常に幸せです。
