Travel in Greece, mainland part 3 – from there, not from Japan

2012 Greece

I came back to Japan safely today morning, and I couldn’t take time there, so I’ll digest my diary of the last day.

The first sightseeing in the morning is the accommodation Olympia. The ruins are well preserved.

It’s exciting to imagine that the ancient Olympics were held here.

In fact, the torch lighting still takes place here.

The beauty of Olympia is not only the ruins but also the museum located a few hundred meters away from the ruins.

I was surprised at the quality of the exhibits. I would like to report in detail in my diary.

After that, we traversed the Peloponnese at a stretch, and although the road was narrower and steeper than expected and we had a hard time, we arrived at Mycenae ruins before 14:00 almost as planned.

I was once again impressed by the greatness of Schliemann. I was amazed at the size of the rocks that make up the wall.

After that, on the way to Athens airport, we stopped at the Corinth Canal and

We drove further past the airport and headed for the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.

A place like this.

We made it just in time for sunset. The temple was so beautiful in the sunset.

After dusk, we headed north and returned the car at the airport. We were able to return the car without any major problems or scratches.

I checked into a hotel adjacent to the airport as planned. I took the next morning’s flight to Japan via Paris.

So, that’s it for real-time diary updates.

これからはいつもどおり一眼の写真を整理して詳細編を書いて行きたいと思います。
