イタリア国境に近いオート=アルプ県にあるSaint-Véran(サン・ヴェラン)という美しい村へ向かうときの出来事。
This village is located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters, and the so-called alpine area on the Italian border, where there are large towns, is over 1,000 meters above sea level, so the roads are basically steep and it often takes more time than usual.
As usual, I was driving according to the Google Map search results…
On the mountain road on the way…
Of course we had to turn back. Even so, it’s hard to think of a place in Japan where you can be so roughly left alone…
Anyway, I didn’t see any “road closed” sign on the way to this place.
I thought it was a bit lazy, so I looked at the Michelin paper map once again (Google Map did me in) and tried to figure out where to go.
Well, well, well. This could be it.
“It’s on lockdown from November to May.
That seems to be the meaning. I see. It’s true that the roads around here are marked “11-5” or something like that.
I learned one thing.
By the way, Saint-Véran was reached safely by another detour along a different road.
