It’s been two months since my trip to Greece, and this is the last installment of my travelogue.
The last stop on my trip to Greece was the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.
When I was updating my blog there, I had received word of mouth information that the best time to visit was at dusk.
The airport of Athens, where we returned the car, was located in the southeast of the city, opposite the Peloponnese peninsula, which we had visited just before, and Cape Sounion was located about 30 minutes ahead of the airport, so it was very easy to stop by.
So we headed out in time for dusk.
Since we still had some time to spare after the sightseeing of the ruins of Mycenae, we stopped at the canal of Corinth on the way to
Then we drove down the highway.
Through the outskirts of Athens.
We arrived at the site as scheduled about an hour before dusk.
Buy a ticket.
We will head to the Temple of Poseidon.
The temple comes into view about a minute from the ticket office.
The sunlight spilling between the rows of columns is very beautiful.
It’s just a normal shot, but you get a picture-perfect picture.
The temple, which was built 2400 years ago, gradually began to turn red.
It is a very beautiful cape by the way. It is the perfect location to worship the god of the sea.
It was not yet dusk, but I was able to see it quietly and comfortably with less popularity.
After the beautiful temple, we headed to the airport and stayed there for the night. We stayed at the airport for the night and took the next morning’s flight back to Japan.
