It’s been a little while since my last update due to the earthquake, but I’m still continuing with my Russia travelogue. It’s been half a year already…
さて、前回は「マリインスキー劇場 （Мариинский театр）No.1 ? 2010 Russia No.14 –」、ここでこの日の夜のオペラのチケットを購入。そして再び聖イサアク大聖堂までもどってきました。
When we were heading to Mariinsky, this place was not open yet, but when we came back from Mariinsky, it was about 12 o’clock, so we could go inside.
I don’t speak English very well, but I can understand simple English to buy a ticket at the entrance. It was not so nice….
Well, this St. Isaac’s Cathedral is indeed a landmark representing St. Petersburg, and the interior was splendid. It is a splendid building that makes you feel the prestige of the Romanov dynasty.
No, I rather thought the interior was more wonderful than any other cathedral in Europe.
I’ve been to Europe many times already, but I can’t think of a cathedral that can match this scale and splendor.
This may have been the most impressive part of the trip. It’s true that building a building of such a high grade is too flamboyant and I don’t think it shows off too much power, but I couldn’t help but be in awe of the Russians and humanity for being able to leave behind such a wonderful asset.
