Visit Date: November 1, 2014
Finally, we went to Gozo. The weather was fine. Gozo is a small island in the northwest of Malta.
To Jugantuya Ruins
30分程度でマルタ島からゴゾ島に到着。クルマでそのまま降りて目指すは巨石神殿群の一つ「ジュガンティーヤ」へ。
It takes less than 30 minutes by car from the ferry terminal to the site. There is no particularly large parking lot, so we parked on the shoulder of the road and started sightseeing. In the meantime, there was a fine modern facility at the entrance of the ruins.
This megalithic temple in Malta is said to be very old and one of the oldest religious sites in the world.
It is still unclear how such a huge stone was moved.
There were also a few tourists here and there. It is true that each stone was large, but the size is not so much and became a short sightseeing that does not even 30 minutes.
A mysterious drink sometimes found in Malta.
Apparently, it is popular here. I bought it at these ruins. Honestly, it’s not tasty…
Calypso’s Cave
It’s less than 10 minutes away from Jugantia. To be honest, it was boring. And I heard that you can’t go into the cave.
About to see the scenery. Although there was a stall for tourists in a sense of leisure.
Azure Window, the westernmost point of Gozo
I went to a place where I wanted to say, “Is it Japan? We went to the place where I wanted to say “Japan? It takes about 40 minutes from Calypso’s Cave. The ferry terminal is at the easternmost tip of the island, if you head here directly, about 40 minutes. Really small island.
The area with these cliffs, it was spectacular. There were rather many tourists. We love cliffs and this is the perfect spot for us.
There was a sign like this saying “Danger ahead”, but everyone went on as normal (laughs)
Visit Victoria, the island’s capital
The last place we visited was Victoria, the central town of the island. There is a parking lot at the bus stop in town. The whole town is under construction and honestly the scenery is not good. Both are not good.
I wonder if it will be a little better once the renovation work is done.
The Citadel on the hill and the Cathedral there were the only attractions.
By the way, this is a “picture” written on the ceiling. It is a trick art.
The view from the Citadel was not bad.
Return to Malta
Victoria sightseeing is just 3pm, I’m worried about going back soon, so I go back to the ferry port. It takes about 20 minutes from Victoria.
When we came back to Malta, we didn’t stop at all and went to Valletta city. We found a good shoulder by the apartment, so we parked on the street. It was a good decision that I checked in advance. Because parking in Valletta seemed to be very strict.
Yes, I rented a car on this day. We are supposed to return it at the airport the next day. We are going to leave Malta next day.
Dinner in the Old Town.
After resting in the apartment for a while, we headed to a restaurant with a good reputation, which I checked on TripAdvisor as usual. We didn’t have a reservation, but we could enter without any problem.
This is the store, we were able to get in at 6pm.

The wine I ordered wasn’t great, but…
Our meal was very good. This was much better than the restaurant we visited on the first day (which was actually about 100m away).
Good aperitif too.
This tagliatelle also has a wonderful taste. It still has a strong Italian influence.
The main course was again a rabbit dish. The rabbit is basically dry, but it had a strong flavor and was very tasty.
And the desserts were good.
We finished all our meals and left the restaurant after 8pm. Again, we were blessed with food.
The next day is the last day, and we will leave Malta in the afternoon. We packed our luggage, took a shower and went to bed so that we could do a lot of sightseeing the next day.
