Before you know it, it’s already late April. It’s almost time for our annual trip. We are almost ready to go, so all we have to do is to go.
Well, it is such an annual trip, but there is a little difference from usual this year. That is.

That’s why. Because I had to be in Japan on May 1st this year because of my work.
Yes, we were usually leaving at the end of April, so we’ve been in Europe for the last eight years.

That’s a lot of France…
So, it’s been 8 years since I spent May 1st in Japan.
May 1st is a national holiday in every European country, “May Day”. It is the most difficult day to visit in GW.
In 2004, I left Paris by night train at 11:00 p.m. and headed for Munich. Anyway, most of the museums in Paris were closed and I had a hard time to spend time until late at night.
I remember having the same difficulty in Tours (a city in the Loire region of France) in 2006.
If you’re in a big city, it can be difficult to find a place to eat dinner in a provincial city, as shops and restaurants are often closed.
However, even in such a case, “Mac” is open!
Not every time, but on May 1st, I usually go to Maccas for lunch or dinner. The picture above is Mac’s in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. (The photo at the top is also from Ljubljana)
Even though it was the capital, it was a small city, a very beautiful city. And this Mac was also very clean and comfortable.
So this year, I will spend May Day in Japan for the first time in eight years.
