Date of visit: August 15, 2010, around 5:00 p.m.
From the square in front of the station, where the hotel is located, to the center of the city, it takes 5 minutes on foot. This is actually the second time for our family here in Strasbourg. I had been there in July 2006 and my parents had been there the following summer. This is one of those cities where you really want to come back again and again.
The symbol of the city is here. It is the Grand Dill.
Speaking of which, the weather is slowly recovering and we can finally see some sunshine.
We also went inside the cathedral, I think we went in there 5 years ago but I don’t remember it at all…
Continue with a leisurely tour of the city center of Strasbourg.
This town was also the model for the town depicted in the Ghibli film “Howl’s Moving Castle”, right? If you think about it that way, it really does look like something you’d see in a movie.
The canal, one of the most colorful features of this city.
The meal of the day was in town. We had Beccoff, which is a specialty of Alsace.
