It’s kind of a long title, but in short, I went to a New Year’s party. You can imagine what kind of party it was by the title.
I was going to listen to Prof. Ryuichi Sakamoto’s Ustream live and play UNO or Monopoly. I got caught by the Monopoly and joined.
Monopoly, it’s been a long time. It’s a mini version, so I didn’t expect the game to start with demolition work.
It’s been a while since I’ve played Monopoly, although I do play it occasionally on my iPhone app. I’m sure it’s been since college. I used to play a lot.
Well, I have a very long Monopoly history in Japan. I’ve been playing Monopoly for about 25 years. The first time I played was in elementary school. It was at T-kun’s house in the neighborhood. His parents often went to America for work, and one of the toys they bought as a souvenir was this Monopoly.
It’s an American version, so naturally it’s only in English, and T-kun’s mother (who teaches English at a university) translated for him and helped him learn the rules and play. He’s learned how to negotiate like a grown-up!
Well, Monopoly was broadcasted on Ustream from the middle. This Monopoly might be interesting.
There were some people who played it for the first time, but the basic rules are simple. It’s true that it takes a little time to get used to the essence of the game, the tricks of negotiation and the atmosphere, but it’s not complicated, so I think it’s a great board game that even first-time players can enjoy.
We had 9 people, so we played UNO with another team. I wanted to do this too.
Oops, oops, the professor’s live performance was also very good. Sorry, it’s just background music.
And at night, we went straight to a drinking party. It was held at a restaurant called “cacoi” along Koen-dori in Shibuya.
The beer called IPA was delicious. IPA is an acronym for “India Pale Ale”. It was the first time to combine hops and ale, but it was very tasty. And I learned a lot.
参加者の皆様お疲れさまでした。またボードゲーム大会やりたい。
