Now it’s the third day in France and practically the second day of sightseeing. It was a beautiful sunny day with no clouds. From this day, the tour of beautiful villages will start in earnest. We are planning to visit about four of them.
The day will start with Lyons-la-Forêt in Normandy. It is located east of Rouen, less than an hour away by car.
In fact, it is a beautiful village between Rouen, where we stayed the night before, and Gerblois, where we stayed just before that, so it would have been more efficient if we could have stopped there yesterday, but we didn’t have a hotel and it was almost dusk, so we passed by.
So originally we were going to go west, but once we got back to the east.
From Rouen, take the big provincial road to the east, and then take the small provincial road. You will arrive at this village through a nice forest road.
We arrived earlier than expected, and the weather was fine, but it was chilly because it was early in the morning.
The best place to see is around the central square of the village. It is a very small village.
But I think it has the atmosphere of a typical Normandy country village.
I thought there were more shops, hotels and restaurants than I expected for the size of the hotel. It might have been good to stay here.
We stayed for only about 20 minutes.
