I’ve finished writing the 2012 GW version of my tour of France’s most beautiful villages, so here’s a summary. The last visit to La Grasse was on May 10th, so it’s been 3 months since then.
This year we have a total of 23 places, for a total of 113. Still, there are more than 150 beautiful villages all over France, so we’ve only just reached nearly 75% of our goal.

The schedule was only one week, so we visited about half of what we did last year, but we were able to travel more efficiently than in the first year.
If I had to pick my top three this time around…
はじめは、初日に訪れた「Apremont-sur-Allier（アプルモン・シュル・アリエ）」
The quiet and beautiful riverside was impressive.
続いて、標高1,000m近くもある小さな村「La Garde-Guérin（ラ・ガルド・ゲラン）」
It was a picture-perfect, RPG-like village.
最後は、これまた標高1,000m級の道を苦労してたどってたどり着いたプロヴァンスの「Moustiers-Sainte-Marie（ムスティエ・サント・マリー）」
I’ve been working hard and it’s really paid off.
来年以降は、おそらく美しい村巡りがメインになることは少なくなりそうですが、機会があればまだ訪れていない村にいってみようと思います。
