Finally, it’s time for the France road trip, landing on the French mainland. I feel like this is the beginning of our journey.
First of all, we rented a car at the airport in Marseille. At first I got an Opel, but I said “Oh no, change it” and I was able to move up a class a bit and rent this VW Golf. No problem at all!
This is my second time to drive Golf. As you would expect from a German car, it is very stable. Especially on this day, I had a long drive to Carcassonne in Languedoc-Roussillon region, so it was very helpful.
Now, this time, I started using the iOS version of Google Maps navigation, which is very good.
Voice guidance is still useful.
We arrived in Carcassonne before noon with such an excellent car and guide.
The sky is blue!
It’s been three years since I’ve been to Carcassonne. “The atmosphere here is very medieval. We walked around the castle city and had a lunch of cassoulet, a specialty of Languedoc region.
Then we moved on to Toulouse. It takes about one hour from Carcassonne. Thanks to the navigation system, we arrived at the hotel smoothly.
The first thing we did in Toulouse was to go to the ticket booth of the Toulouse Capitol Orchestra. They have a concert just tomorrow. I hope I can make it because this is my favorite orchestra in France.
There is a hall in the place where it is one station by subway from the hotel, and it seemed to be sold in the back of that place, but unfortunately Monday is a closed day, because it seems to be from 10 o’clock, I decided to visit again tomorrow and see.
Then recharge the SFR prepaid SIM. I went directly to the store because the operation on the internet didn’t go well. There happened to be an SFR store near the Capitol Square where I was heading next, and the subway was right in front of the Capitol station exit, so I went in immediately.
And I was able to successfully recharge an additional 2GB worth.
I’ll give you more details when I get back.
Then we walked around the Capitol and the surrounding churches.
We had a dinner with Mr. and Mrs. T who we met at Conch three years ago.
We talked so much about our trip that it was around midnight before we realized. The subway stopped when I came here, so I took a taxi.
A fulfilling fourth day ended like this.
