Date of visit: April 30, 2011, around 9:00 a.m.
It’s now the 30th of April. I don’t even know how many days have passed since I came to France, but I’m still going to visit more beautiful villages.
We left Besançon, where we stayed the night before, and drove northeast for two hours. We came to a beautiful village in the Alsace region. There are many beautiful villages in the Alsace region, so you will have plenty of time to visit them today.
The first beautiful village in Alsace is “Eguisheim”, not far from Colmar. There was a big parking space near the entrance of the village, so parking was easy.
At the entrance of the village, there is a sign of the church of the most beautiful village in France, but I felt a little strange. It’s true that Alsace is in France, but this fairy-tale atmosphere makes me think of Germany.
Well, Germany is just around the corner.
Just a few tens of seconds walk down the short main street will bring you to the central square.
The small scale and fairy-tale atmosphere was like an attraction in an amusement park. It’s very interesting that this is a village that actually exists now, isn’t it?
Anyway, I don’t know what to think of the word “auberge” in Alsace.
These signs in European cities and villages are really stylish. Especially in France.
Now, the tour of Alsace has started in earnest. The next village is very close to here!
