10. Hobby General

A friend invited me to visit for the first time. Thank God!

I keep wanting to visit North Africa, but it hasn’t happened yet. So Tunisian cuisine is uncharted territory.

We had the 4,000 yen course (add a main dish for 500 yen to the 3,500 yen course).

First of all, the service and the canapés are slightly spicy and ethnic with a tomato flavor.

Next was the Tunisian spring rolls called brik. Exquisite, half-boiled eggs served hot!

I heard that this is a classic dish in Tunisia. Highly recommended.

Couscous, you may be quite familiar with this one.

In France, it’s sometimes served as a salad or a side dish, but this might be the first time I’ve had it as a proper dish. Very delicious!

The main course was black sea bream, and chicken (I forgot what it was…)

Needless to say, the ingredients are excellent. I think the seasoning is Tunisian, which is a little hard to describe. I apologize for my lack of expression, but it is definitely “delicious! There is no doubt about it.

For dessert, oh I forgot what this was too, but it was a sesame and almond dessert. This is also a taste I’ve never experienced.

Two bottles of wine for drinks. Both are Tunisian wine.

The shopkeeper told us that rosé is the most famous Tunisian wine. We decided to have it as recommended.

It was not bad, but I don’t like rosé.

Next is red wine. This is also Tunisian wine. I don’t know much about it, so I asked them to bring something they recommended.

This one is quite weighty and robust. It might be the perfect main dish for a hearty meal.

For the main course we had that day, we ordered fish and meat for two people each to share, and both were very solid ingredients, so I think they went well with the wine.

We had a great time with a fun owner, good food and good company.

I heard that if you get about 15 people together, you can roast a whole sheep or something, so I think I’ll invite some people over.
