I’m never short of stories about prepaid SIM cards for international travel, but I’m going to try this kind of service.
Cheap mobile internet and calls abroad with Holiday Phone http://www.holidayphone.com/
If you are staying in Japan for more than three weeks or a month, you may be able to do something locally, but if you are traveling abroad for only a week or two, it is a waste of time to go through the various procedures to buy locally.
That’s why it’s always good to be able to do something before you leave.
However, although I tried mail-order services such as eBay in the past, none of them worked at all, so I continued to waste money on dormitories.
So this “Holiday Phone” seems to have a good track record. We can only hope for this.
Of course it’s more expensive than buying locally, but still, this is the price for this capacity.
The application process is very simple and easy to understand. This is very promising!
By the way, I didn’t order it because I have it, but I heard that you can order Mobile WiFi router too.
Shipping cost, and time to arrival, Japan, is as follows. A sufficient period.
Finally, a review of fees.
I think it’s a reasonable price for the value of the time you save on local procedures.
さて、無事注文した後、本当に1週間ほどで届くのかというと、間違いなく届きましたよ。
これ、普通のAirMail、つまりあの旧体制でめんどくさい書留、ゆうパックではないので普通にポストに入っております。すごく便利。
Check what’s inside.
The prepaid SIM card is in the small envelope on the right side of the photo. Oops, I see it’s SFR.
The activation instructions are on the bottom of the letterhead that this SIM card is attached to.
It is a basic operation and I have experienced it in the past. I think I can manage it.
あとは現地で本当に稼働するか試すだけ。今度こそプリペイドSIM問題解決するか。期待したいです。
