Date of visit: April 24, 2011, around 9:00 a.m.

It’s the morning of our eighth day in France. Mortemart, less than an hour from Limoges where we stayed the night before, is the first beautiful village of the day.

It was a Sunday morning and the road was very empty. In addition, the road leading to this place also arrived without getting lost at all because it is almost a straight road after getting off for a while going on the motorway leading to the west.

Parking spaces are easy to find.

A very quiet small village. It seems that there is not much to see, but you can see that it is an old town by walking around.

If you just walked around normally, you could finish watching it in less than 10 minutes.

Come to think of it, not only in this village, but you can see many monuments from the First World War. In a sense, it was the first world war that mankind experienced, and I wonder if that is why it left such a big scar.

We took a nap for an hour in the parking lot here because we had more time than we expected, because it was a very small village and because it was so close to Limoges. Now let’s go north. We still have a lot of plans.
