The last village of the day is “Moustiers-Sainte-Marie”, a beautiful village in Provence.
The road from Baljem to this village is steep and winding, as shown below.
It is certainly a narrow road, but the pavement is in good condition, and even if the oncoming car came, I was able to pass it without much trouble. (Well, it’s also because I’m getting used to it.
However, it’s not a good idea to drive while looking at the scenery, so concentration is necessary.
And just before we arrived at the village, this lake jumped out at us!
It’s called “Sainte Croix Lake.” It was an amazing view!
After taking pictures at the scenic point, we went to the beautiful village. The parking lot was surprisingly full.
Like the lake I mentioned earlier, this whole area is a national park, so the number of tourists is much larger than in other beautiful villages. Because the time of day was close to 6 pm, the village was crowded with many people.
I had the impression that there were many pottery shops.
Now, there are some high points, so it’s hot, but of course we’re going up!
The view of the village on the way up to the rocky hill is wonderful.
The stairs are a bit of a ball, but it wasn’t too far. In the middle of the rocky mountain, there is a small church. Apparently, you can only go up to here.
Disembarking from the mountain, we strolled around the village again, as it was past 6pm and many shops were closing their doors.
Although the road was steep, it was a very beautiful village where the hardships were well rewarded, or even more so. The village has a lot of shops and facilities for tourism. I think this village deserves the highest rating among the most beautiful villages in France, except for the convenience of transportation.
