It was already around five in the evening when we arrived at Pujol-le-Haut, located on a hill overlooking the Lot River.
Fortunately, the weather, which we had been struggling with all day, finally began to clear up by the time we arrived at the last village, and we were able to enjoy a very pleasant sightseeing.
Every part of the city seemed to be beautifully maintained and I really enjoyed walking around.
Sunday evening is about 2 to 3 hours longer than in Japan, so it’s about 3 to 4 o’clock in the afternoon in Japan.
Now, this village is not described in detail on the website, but it seems to have been a battleground in the Albigeois Crusade, because it was close to Lot-et-Garonne, which is nearer to the south, away from Dordogne, where we spent most of the day.
It seems that this is also one of the villages on the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela, and the familiar “pilgrim symbols” are everywhere in the village.
The small church was also very beautiful.
And in this village, there are many flower beds here and there, which are very beautiful and impressive.
It was May, the month of fresh green, and the trees and flowers were very colorful. It was a long drive of nearly 300km, but the beautiful weather and beautiful scenery that we encountered at the end of the day helped to relieve our fatigue.
After that, we drove for another hour or so and arrived at Ochs, our accommodation for the day. The curtain came down on a long day.
