From arrival in Corsica to Bastia -2013 France

2013 France

I’ve finished my diary of the most beautiful villages in France, but there’s more to France this year than just beautiful villages.

This year we spent the first three days in France on the island of Corsica. Then we flew to Marseille and started our trip to mainland France.

I would like to write a record of other than such “beautiful villages”.

Let’s start with the highlights from our arrival in Corsica to Bastia.

Arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 4:00 a.m. on the first Air France flight at 21:55, which I always use frequently. I took an early morning taxi to Orly airport.

I’ve been to France many times but this was my first time using Orly airport.

Breakfast is here. It is very French. The croissant is very delicious.

Then we took the 8 o’clock flight to Ajaccio, Corsica.

We immediately rented a car and moved. This Micra so-called March European specification was really the worst.

I rented a car with the air ticket, but I think it was a mistake. By the way, car rental in Corsica is a little bit more expensive than mainland. I had an impression that there was no big difference between all companies.

Incidentally, most of the section of road from Ajaccio to here was the course for the second stage of the Tour de France this year.

A view like this.

This is my first time using Google Maps Navigation overseas. It is very nice.

As it took quite a long time to get to Sant’Antonino, we decided not to return to Ajaccio as we had originally planned, but to take a hotel in Bastia, a city in the north of Corsica.

With this app, of course. I had quite a bit of trouble finding it. It may be that there is not much capacity.

Oh, by the way, there is something called Passbook. I register it immediately.

So we arrived safely in Bastia just before dusk.

We went through the old port to the area where the hotel is located.

思った以上に道が険しかったのとクルマのパフォーマンスが最悪だったのでとても疲れました。この先思いやられるなあ…。(続く)
