I’m a super beginner and I’ve only had my road bike for about 10 days, but I’ve already bought binding pedals and shoes for the road. I tried to match the color and make of the shoes to my bike.

After learning a lot last weekend, I bought the shoes directly from the store and the pedals and cleats from Rakuten.

Actually, Amazon didn’t carry it at all…. It was normal on Rakuten, but it takes a long time to arrive, which is a bummer.

So, these products ordered from Rakuten, finally arrived yesterday, and I installed them immediately.

A view of the pedals.

And a look at the cleats that attach to the shoes.

I put it on for now and practiced putting it on and taking it off on the roller stand at home. Whether it is because it is a new product, or just because I am not used to it, my first impression was that it was harder than expected.

Well, the date has changed today. I left early in the morning because I wasn’t feeling well, and slept all the way home, but in the evening I started to feel a little better, so I was practicing binding pedals around the house.

As expected, I was baptized by a rollover and a standing moss. However, I had no idea what this standing moss looked like in the first place, but thanks to you, I could understand its tendency.

How does it roll over? First of all, the direction is all to the right. The bike is parked, the right foot is on the pedal, the left foot is off the pedal, and the right foot is on the ground, but the bike still rolls to the right.

If you look it up on the web, you’ll find that in most cases, all it says is that it won’t come off in a hurry and falls over.

But in my case it was different. All the cases where I fell because I didn’t understand the balance of the right and left side when the right foot was attached. It was never a case of trying to remove it and not being able to.

Of course, there will be times when you fall down because you can’t remove it in a moment.

In any case, I thought I could prevent rollovers with a very high probability if I first became aware of the left-right balance of the center of gravity when one leg was attached.

It was only a 10-minute ride, but it was good practice for me. I hope to get back in shape soon and try a long ride.

By the way, walking in the city with these road-only shoes was not as annoying as it was written on the Internet, but I thought that the covers were essential to ease wear and tear because the cleats seemed to wear out easily.

That’s why I panicked and bought this one; it was on Amazon.
