I’m still struggling with octaves, but the important point this time is that I’m too conscious of the upper notes of the octave and neglecting the lower notes.
Going back to the basics a bit more, on the low notes, blow the breath firmly downward. He said that if you are really conscious of the high notes, the angle will be upward.
The speed of the breath is certainly increased, but the angle of the breath is also important; if the angle of the breath is too high when blowing the lower notes, the angle of the breath cannot be effectively changed when moving up the octave.
Of course, you need to keep the sides of your mouth tight and the middle flexible without straining.
