Date of visit: May 19, 2012
This is the last part of my very long trip to Spain & France.
Arrive in Madrid and stay overnight, then leave Madrid airport in the evening for Paris to fly home.
On the last day, we went to “Queen Sofia Art Center” first thing in the morning.
After all, it’s Guernica. This is my third visit to Madrid, and I always visit this museum.
In addition to Picasso, the museum has an extensive collection of modern art of the 20th century.
Next, we walked to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
This is my favorite museum in Madrid.
The special exhibition of Chagall was held at the right time.
By the way, I haven’t seen Chagall slowly since I visited Nice in 2006.
As you would expect from Chagall, there was limited admission. It was a system that the entrance time was different for each ticket.
I had a slot at 11:45. I waited at the entrance for a while.
The venue was small, but the works were quite good. But it was a little too crowded and uncomfortable.
After visiting the museum, we moved to the vicinity of Sol to do some shopping.
I wrote down some souvenirs of my trip and had some Madrid specialties. I had a hot chocolate and churros.
After 15:00, I went to the hotel. I received my luggage there and took a taxi to the airport. I was on my way back home.
So this is the end of my very long travelogue for Golden Week 2012.
It’s already April 2013 and I’m waiting for my next trip. I need to get this year’s travelogue up sooner than later!
