Today, the long-awaited Kyoto Marathon winner was announced. The odds were 3.3 to 1, so I thought I might be able to make it, but thanks to you, I made it!
It was after 1:00 p.m. when I received the email, but I checked the lottery results on RUNNET, where I applied online first.
So, two years later, I’m going to challenge a full marathon again, following Tokyo in 2009 and 2011.

But still, I’m looking forward to this course.
Kyoto is a city of memories where I spent four years of my university life. It is especially memorable because it was the first city where I lived alone away from my parents.
That’s why I’m looking forward to riding around the university. I used to live near the university, so I used to ride my bike around here almost everyday.
I also like the fact that the 35km point at the end of the course along the Kamo River is Marutamachi Bridge. I always crossed this bridge when I went to the orchestra practice. Every week I used to look north from this bridge and enjoy the seasonal scenery of Kyoto.
However, please note that the time limit is stricter than that of the Tokyo Marathon.
But I will overcome that with my past experience and motivation to run in Kyoto, where I have a lot of memories.
Of course, it’s going to be a marathon of tweaking and tweeting and Now Here! I think it will be a marathon.
さあなまった体を鍛えるぞ!
