It was another beautiful sunny day. We had four beautiful villages planned.
First, we left our accommodation in Castres. Once there, we headed to Albi, and after another 30 minutes or so, we arrived at the first beautiful village of the day, Monesties.
Maybe a bit of a sensitive village…
Before heading to the next village, I went to Cordes-sur-Cher, which is about 15 minutes by car from Monestier. I had visited there three years ago, but my travel companion told me about a great spot to take photos, so I went there to take photos.
It’s like a city in the sky!
Now we are back to visiting beautiful villages. The next village, Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, is about an hour away from Cordes-sur-Ciel. But the road was a little tight here.
But equally subtle here…
Well, let’s move on.
Next is Brousse-le-Chateau, it takes about an hour to get there, but the mountains and valleys are getting steeper and steeper. It is getting tighter and tighter for drivers.
I’m really glad I went with the VW Golf.
On the way to the Brousse-le-Chateau, we suddenly saw this beautiful village in the steep valley.
The French countryside is terrifying.
I’ll look into it later.
Then we arrived at Brousse-le-Chateau.
It was beautiful here!
The last village of the day is Sainte-Enimie.
It takes about 2 hours. On the way we take the A75, which is a highway, and when I say A75, I mean this!
The Mayo Bridge!
I’ve been to see this one 3 years ago & drive over the bridge, but it’s still nice to come back again & again.
By the way, Millau is the name of a town near the bridge. There is a town called Roquefort near this Millau, which is world famous for its blue cheese.
If it weren’t for the drive this time of year, I’d definitely buy some as souvenirs…
However, at the service area where you can see the Miyo Bridge, they were selling this crepe with Roquefort blue cheese and lettuce, so I tried it.
I knew Roquefort would taste amazing!
I took a lot of detours, but it should take me about an hour to reach Sainte-Enimie from Millau.
The road is also steep in this area. There is a highland called Cevennes, which is almost 1,000m above sea level.
We arrived at our destination in no time at all because we had seen the Millau Bridge and enjoyed the Rockfall.
This was the most beautiful village we saw today!
It was around 5pm and our next destination village was more than 2 hours away from here, so we decided to stay here tonight.
We found a nice auberge and checked in there.
For dinner, there was a dish made with Roquefort, which was also close by.
I’ve eaten too much again. Oh dear….
We drank some wine as usual, so I fell asleep a while after dinner that day too.
By the way, this was 50cl (500ml) (laughs), but I’m not hungover at all!
