For May 15. This was probably one of the best weather days of the trip.
I’ll be brief today with some photos.
Here are some pictures related to the “road” that I didn’t get to take much of yesterday.
You can’t drive a car, but when you actually walk, you can walk on this kind of road.
Sometimes we walk along the big national highway.
There are also signs like this on the roads and highways along the pilgrimage route.
Being a car, the visits will be skipped. Yesterday.
The best of them were Burgos and Astorga. I’ll introduce Burgos later.
Astorga, it was wonderful. This place is definitely worth a visit.
“City Hall Square in Astorga.”
A square with a nice atmosphere.
“The Bishop’s Palace of Astorga.”
Gaudi’s design and that, I was a little disappointed in the interior photo shooting NG.
“The Cathedral of Astorga.”
Anyway, it was big.
And we took the hotel for the day in Ponferrada.
It was past nine o’clock in the evening when I arrived. After check-in, we had a meal and went to bed without sightseeing.
On this day alone, we visited three World Heritage Sites along the pilgrimage route or close to it.
I’ll cover each of them in detail when I get back home, but the one that stood out above the rest was the Burgos Cathedral.
I have been to many cathedrals around Europe and I will say that this is definitely the number one cathedral in the history of my visits.
So, it was a very fulfilling day. By the way, I didn’t visit the city of Leon. I’ll stop by there when I go back to Madrid.
