I’ve been living in my town “Motosumiyoshi” for almost 6 years now.

Although I’ve lived here for a long time, I haven’t actually explored my hometown much, but recently I’ve suddenly developed a desire to explore, and I’ve been going out and about a lot.

Musashikosugi, the neighboring town, also has a variety of shops, but it’s kind of half-baked. On the other hand, Motosumiyoshi has a lot of old-fashioned small shops, and it’s a town with a nice atmosphere that’s quite busy.

Moreover, I feel that there are a lot of good restaurants in the area, which makes me excited even after all this time.

I’d like to introduce some of the shops that I’ve been enjoying in Motosumiyoshi.

It’s a bit far from Motosumiyoshi, but it seems to be a famous restaurant for those in the know.

Actually, my house is in this neighborhood, and even though it’s far from the station, it’s always busy and I’ve been curious about it.

I was hesitant to go there because it was too close to my neighborhood, but the other day I gathered up my courage and went in… and it was even better than I imagined!

The first thing that amazes me is the variety of the menu.

It’s hard to ask for too much anymore (laughs)

But don’t worry, the chatty and social media-loving proprietor will introduce you to his recommendations for the day!

You’ll be surprised to find that the food prepared by this lively chef is so authentic that you’ll think, “Oh, is that an izakaya? You’ll be surprised at how authentic the food is.

First of all, the ingredients are good. We introduce the ingredients we purchased that day through our Facebook page.

The taste is authentic and surprising. The cabbage rolls I had the other day, the depth of the seasoning on the meat and the combination with the soup using ichiban dashi was exquisite.

In addition, the casual menu also has a variety of elaborate dishes, such as scallop omelet and fried rice, that never bore customers.

They also have a full menu of sake and other alcoholic beverages. They also have about two kinds of draft beers, and they seem to change every day.

The gap between what looks like an izakaya but isn’t is a comfortable one. I already have a feeling that I’ll be coming back.

It looks like the restaurant was established in March this year. This one is a little hard to find in a back alley, but it’s in a great location, just a minute walk from the station.

Actually, when I went to Izakaya Orenchi introduced above yesterday, it was fully booked, so I decided to go to a different restaurant and found this restaurant on my way towards Motosumiyoshi Station.

The inside of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. I looked at the menu for a drink, and this is what jumped out at me.

I was told that I could have four glasses of recommended wine… It was a weekday, so it might be tough for people who aren’t strong drinkers, but the price was reasonable, so I didn’t hesitate to choose this.

The recommended wines are mainly from the south of France, Italy, and Spain. All of them were so delicious that we drank them without taking pictures (laughs).

For our meal, we chose the 3,500 yen “Chef’s Omakase Course”.

It is said to be Italian, but it was somewhat French? It was a taste and composition of the feeling. Pasta, on this day, was sea urchin pasta, but it was also somewhat French style. The main course was completely French!

From the hors d’oeuvres, to the pasta, to the main course, to the dessert at the end, they’re all high quality!

Is this quality and quantity good enough for 3,500 yen? That’s how great it was!

Everything was good, but I was particularly impressed by the marinade (or was it carpaccio?). It was made from horse mackerel. The marinade (or was it carpaccio?) was made with horse mackerel, but the quality of the horse mackerel itself and the way it was seasoned to make the most of the ingredients were really delicious.

I don’t remember being very satisfied with carpaccio or marinade served at such Italian restaurants in Japan, but the one here was not. It was so good that I wanted to have a second helping.

I have a feeling that I’ll be frequenting this place as well as Oreenchi.

なんだか引越しとか検討したこともあるし、いまでもそうだったりするのですが、こんな発見をしてしまうとなかなかこのおいしいモトスミヨシを離れづらくなりますね。
