Date of visit: October 9, 2010, around 10:00 a.m.
The weather is getting better. We can see the blue sky now.
From the Church of the Saviour on the Blood, where we had just been, our next destination was the Mariinsky Theatre. We walked to the Mariinsky Theatre to buy tickets for the opera that was to be held that night. It’s quite a distance, but it’s hard to get there by public transportation, so we decided to walk.
Isaac Cathedral, the symbol of St. Petersburg. I couldn’t go inside yet when I walked through. I think I’ll stop by again on the way back. Isaac Square in front of the cathedral, the statue of Nicholas I.
From here you can walk along the canal to the Mariinsky Theatre.
By the way, is there a conservatory around here?
After a slow 15 minute walk from Isaac Square, I arrived at my destination, the Mariinsky Theatre. Now I wonder if I can buy a ticket for tonight.
