Another shuttle bus arranged just in case #MedocMarathon2014

One of the biggest challenges in arranging the Medoc Marathon privately is securing transportation on the day of the event, but we decided to also secure a shuttle bus from another company just in case.

Looks like a private bus company.

This is the one. It seems to belong to a private bus company “TransGironde bus”.

6 euros for a round trip is certainly cheap.

To place an order, click on the link from the official website, which will take you to the TransGironde bus company website. After that, just follow the instructions on the site and enter your basic information.

We’re still in English around here.

It’s getting more and more French (laughs). Well, I managed.

After that, you have to enter your credit card number. You will be issued an electronic ticket with a 2D barcode as shown below. This will be displayed in your browser or sent to your registered email.

It’s a round trip, so you’ll need a ticket from Bordeaux city to Pauillac and a

will be issued in two types.

Another reason to add another company 1: It is too last minute to receive an invitation email.

But basically, I’m going to use the Premium, which costs 2.5 times the price of this one I previously arranged.

Still, there is another reason why I dared to arrange another car.

What I mean is that the email with the information looks like this.

Moreover, it arrived on August 30. Is it only this level of guidance that comes at the last minute…?

Another reason to add another company 2: The departure location information is too sketchy.

And the departure location on the morning of the day is also too sketchy.

Départ Bordeaux-centre (rue Ferrère) : 06:30

Start Bordeaux city center (rue Ferrère) : 06:30

This is the only information about the departure place… What, only the name of the street? Indeed, there was a “rue Ferrére” in the center of Bordeaux.

It’s a small street, and I’m sure there will be contestants in costume wandering around the area early in the morning, so it might be easy to find them there, but I’m still worried.

By the way, the TransGironde bus, which I asked to add this time, has a specific location on Google Maps.

Why don’t you do this…

Another reason to add another company 3: Ticket receipt information is too sketchy.

Furthermore.

Thank you for coming to the Tuttiquanti desk at the withdrawal of the startnumbers on Friday 12th September to pick up your shuttle-bracelet.

In other words.

  1. 「Tuttiquanti desk」
  2. 「Tuttiquanti desk」

So I took the trouble to contact the tournament by email just to be sure.

By the way, the application called Ginger is very useful.

This is the most important question I wanted to ask.

Is tuttiquanti desk at Pauillac?

Can I get it at the same time of withdrawing start numbers in Pauillac 12th September?

Fortunately, the replies from the convention came right away, the next business day.

My understanding was that the content was generally OK.

At least.

you will pick up your bracelet with your BIB

So, it was a good harvest for me to confirm again that it is true that I can receive with my number (BIB, start number).

Another reason to add another company 4: Consider the risk of missing a ride

One more thing is this. Anyway, there are few means and Pauillac is far from Bordeaux, so if you miss the train, you can’t start over.

But there’s also a minor but significant problem with this.

But considering that you have to find the bus stop on the morning of the day…

I would think that the TransGironde bus is more likely to be found almost certainly from prior information.

If you think about it like this, you may think that arranging another bus = TransGironde bus is not a hedge against the risk of missing the bus at all, but on the other hand, it is very safe to return.

This is the opposite of going, the bus on the convention side leaves earlier. So as soon as you find it, you can just get on it. Even if you miss it, there is another bus.

Furthermore, the bus parking is clearly designated in Pauillac, so it should not be too difficult to find your bus after the event.

So I think we are definitely hedging our risk, at least for the return trip.

I’m a bit overly concerned about this, but I think it’s the only thing I can do in the advance preparation stage about the means of transportation on the day, which can make things difficult until the last minute.
