It took us less than two hours from the east side of Mont Bantou to reach “Séguret” on the west side. It was a road with Mont Bantou on the left hand. The road was steeper than I expected.
In the east, vineyards are more prominent than in the west. It is a beautiful village surrounded by vineyards all around. It seems that this area was under the direct control of the Pope when he fled to Provence.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Pope’s wine in such a direct territory, and this village is a beautiful village nearby. Although there are not many, there was a shop that sells the wine of this region directly.
Now, let’s take a walk around the village. I was very impressed by the buildings and streets which are made up of slightly lighter stones.
We were not allowed in the church. It is not unusual to find churches in beautiful villages that are not open to the public. But I think there are a little more in Provence. Is it my imagination?
It looks like we still have a little time before dusk. We decided to head to another beautiful village.
