iPhone 5s went on sale today. It’s been a while since I’ve stood in line, or maybe this is the first time I’ve stood in line since midnight.
I wasn’t sure about standing in line all night… so I went to bed at 10pm the day before, woke up at 2:30am and drove to Omotesando. I woke up at 2:30am because there was an earthquake!
It took about 30 minutes from my house to Shibuya by car because the road was empty.
The night scene. As I expected, the person in front of me was the one who lined up from the last train. It was great that I could line up at the same time as the last train group. I was about 50th in line.
Preparations are steadily underway for the launch in the morning.
When I was playing with MacBookPro, morning came before I knew it.
And the store opens at 8! First of all, it takes about 30 minutes to get inside the store.
It took 30 minutes from the time I actually entered the store to the time I was guided to the window, so it was actually a one hour wait from the time the store opened. Is it within the range of assumption enough?
I thought I’d go for the much talked about gold for now, but unfortunately it was already sold out by the time it was my turn.
Too bad, that’s why I tried to get the black 64GB, but what a surprise….
It was really coincidental, but the operator said that there was a person with incomplete documents right before me and suddenly there was a cancellation. And he said, “You can buy it because we got a gold cancellation”!
Whoo-hoo!
So I got my iPhone 5s Gold!
