Date of visit: May 14, 2013, around 1:00 p.m.

Our tour of the beautiful villages of Aveyron continues with our third stop on May 14 at Brusses-le-Château.

It is the most beautiful village in France, located halfway between Millau, Albi and Millau along the Tarn river which flows from east to west in this area.

The drive along the Tarn River under clear skies was very pleasant.

The D902 runs along the south side of the Tarn River. Brusses-le-Château can be reached from this southern road over the bridge over the Tarn River.

The view of the village, of the chateau, from this bridge was so beautiful!

As its name suggests, the chateau that towers majestically in the center of the village is the symbol of this village.

Unfortunately, we arrived at the château after 1 p.m., and it opens at 2 p.m. We wondered whether we should wait for an hour or not, but we gave up thinking about the rest of the day.

It’s a very small village, so a walk through the village takes less than half an hour.

Crossing this end, you can enter the old town side.

It was a fairly steep arched bridge.

A very narrow alley. Of course, cars are not allowed to enter.

The hills in the village were tougher than they looked.

We couldn’t even go inside the church. But I’m used to it now.

We were not able to stop inside the chateau or the church, but we were very satisfied with the medieval townscape along the beautiful river. I thought it was a typical example of a beautiful village.

By the way, there was a hotel, too, though it was one or two houses.

If we had met at a good time in the evening, it is very likely that we would have stayed well enough. There was no mobile phone signal, but these days there are many hotels in beautiful villages that have WIFi.

Now, we’re going to go further. Go to Myo!
