Date of visit: April 25, around 9:00 a.m.

We’ve been in the Loire region since yesterday evening (April 24). It’s been 5 years since my first European drive, and I’m amazed that I’ve made it this far in the car.

We leave Tours where we are staying at a little after 7am. Today, the 25th, we will visit as many beautiful villages in Loire as possible, and then we will go to Burgundy at once. In fact, I have already taken a hotel in Vezelay, so I have to go there no matter what.

Now the first beautiful village of the day is Candes-Saint-Martin. Let’s check the location.

A small village just around where the Loire River splits into its tributaries. It’s a great location.

In fact, the village right next door is also one of the most beautiful villages in France. It’s a convenient way to see two at once.

It was probably before 9 o’clock when we arrived at Candes-Saint-Martin. Actually, it took longer than I expected because I took a wrong turn and so on.

The weather is supposed to improve today, but it’s still cloudy in the morning. But very beautiful scene. Before heading to the village, we took a picture of the village from the bridge in front.

We then went to the village and were able to park the car by the church.

This church is the large building in the middle of the photo I took earlier before entering the village.

As you know, the Loire region is known for its old castles. It’s a cityscape that somehow reminds you of a castle.

After this, we went to the next village “Montsoreau” and came back again. By this time, the weather had cleared up and it was very hot and humid.

We took one last picture of the village from the bridge before parting.

Next time, we’ll go to Montsoreau, which is really a neighboring village.
