Date of visit: May 9, 2012, around 10:00 a.m.
This is my first beautiful tour in two days. Because I want to go to Turin, Italy after sightseeing in Saint-Veran at 2,000m altitude and stay there for a night, and spend the next day, the 8th, to travel to France after sightseeing in Turin.
The day before, we had spent the night in Antibes on the Côte d’Azur.
This beautiful village, Coarers, is located less than an hour north of Nice. But the north side of Nice is quite steep mountain road, isn’t it?
In fact, when I visited the Côte d’Azur with my parents last October, we had planned to stop by this village, but I was worried about the steepness of this mountain road and decided not to visit.
So, since I’m traveling alone this time, I thought I’d definitely give it a try.
However, when I drove to this place, I found that the mountain road was not so bad. I wonder if it’s because I’ve been trained so hard in the Alps (laughs).
I parked my car in the parking lot near the roundabout to the village and started sightseeing immediately.
Because it is the first thing in the morning, there are few tourists, or not at all. There might be only local people.
At the highest point of the village is the church. However, it is not so far from the entrance of the village. It’s a very small village.
The square in front of the church. It looks like there is a school.
The reason why I thought this village was worth seeing for its small size was probably because it had a lot of back alleys.
I was really the only tourist. I felt like I had a private tour of a lovely village.
