Date of visit: April 29, 2011, around 6:00 p.m.
From the immediate village of Yvoire, we went around Lake Geneva, then Geneva to Lausanne, then north through Lausanne to the French border. From there, we headed further northwest to arrive.
The view shortly after crossing the border into France from the Swiss side.
I took advantage of the traffic and somehow managed to get a picture.
Basically, we can drive toward Besançon where we are going to stay this day, but we have to leave the main highway and go on a steep road.
As I mentioned earlier, you will be heading north on the Courbet Road, which leads to Besançon and Ornans.
Lods was a very small and beautiful village on the Courbet road.
It is really a passing point on the road, there is no such sights, tourist facilities. However, I think that I was able to heal a little fatigue by stopping at the end of such a very long drive, including over the border today.
After this, we went to Besançon via Ornans, Courbet’s birthplace. We stayed here for one night. Next, we moved to Alsace. (To be continued)
