Date of visit: May 5, 2012, around 10:00 a.m.
We stayed one night in Clermont-Ferrand and the first beautiful village we visited was Montpeyroux, less than 30 minutes drive south of Clermont-Ferrand.
This is also an area with a concentration of beautiful villages.
I think it’s easy to visit because it’s right off the highway. Of course, I’m talking about the car only.
Parking, there was actually a large space available outside the village, but it took us a while to find it as it was a bit out of the village.
Even though it’s far away, it only takes a little over a minute to walk to the roundabout at the entrance of this one.
As usual, we head towards the center, taking photos and capturing the beautiful village scenery.
It’s still early in the morning, so I wonder if the shops are open.
And this monument is still alive and well.
There is a tower in the center of this village, and you can climb up to the top for about 2 euros.
The stairs inside are very narrow. However, I was the only tourist.
The view from the top of the tower. It would have been even better if the weather had been a bit better.
But the view from high above is very soothing.
I enjoyed the village more than I thought I would.
We will head to the next village.
