The Tokyo Marathon blog continues today. I’ve been thinking about the time schedule.

Time to pass each point (barrier measures)
First of all, as a countermeasure against the “barrier,” you need to remember to keep the following pacing plan in mind.

- 10km:10:40(日比谷)
- 15km:11:20(品川折り返し手前)

- 30km:13:20(折り返し後浜町手前)

It is no different from the last time that it is exactly noon at the 20km point (near Shinbashi after the turnaround), which is one reference point.
For the general public it takes a while to get started. Last time, the start time was about 9:25. In other words, the first 5km of the race is quite tough for me, considering my ability to distribute the pace later on. So, I had to run seriously because it was outrageous to go to the toilet in the first 25km.
To be honest, I’d like to see the time set to take these staggered starts into account. I remember that I emphasized this in the participant questionnaire when I participated in the race before…. Well, it’s no use complaining. I’ll just do my best not to get caught in the gate.
On the day of the event, I plan to set an alarm to remind me of this target time.
The above is the proposed time schedule.
You might think that I’m a bit overzealous. (laughs) But I’m a bad runner, so I might have to run just under the time limit, so this kind of planning is rather important.
今日から東京マラソンEXPOも開始!本番が近づいてきました。
