I have been visiting the most beautiful villages in France, Italy, Spain, Wallonia (Belgium), Switzerland, and other European countries for a long time, and in fact, there is a most beautiful village in Japan. It was founded in 2005, so it’s quite a long history!

I have known about its existence for a long time, but last month I became an associate member of the “Union of the Most Beautiful Villages in Japan”. If you become an associate member, you will receive a membership card, a pin badge, and various information documents. You will also be able to purchase the following disc panels.
I wish there was a European version of this disc panel.
I don’t have an exact count, but as of June 2018, there are still quite a few villages registered all over Japan. I’ve visited some of them, but I plan to eventually conquer the Japanese version as well. But even though it’s my home ground, there are so many of them, and Japan is quite a big country, so it’s going to be tough to conquer them all.
