Trying to figure out how to use Pinterest

It seems to have become popular in Japan recently, and I got an account about two weeks ago.

To know what it is like, I highly recommend this explanatory article. It is quite long though.

I’m still trying to figure out how to use it. I’ve been using a lot of photo-related social networking sites and online photo storage, so it’s hard to come up with good ideas.

But for now, I’ve come up with two things.

First of all, I “Pin” photos I’ve posted on Flickr in the past, especially the “World Heritage Sites” or “Most Beautiful Villages in France” photos as appropriate.

Les plus beaux villages de France

もうひとつは、最近有料会員となった「The Wall Street Journal」が提供しているインフォグラフィックのアカウント「WSJGraphics」のフォロー。

Is it a twitter account that this one is based on?

I’ve been wanting to put together a WSJ infographic for a while because it’s so well done. This was just the right time.

It seems that Pinterest has been increasing the number of users at a great rate since last year.

You were recently featured in the WSJ.

The WSJ made an infographic that shows such growth at a glance, so I used the embed code to Pinterest and blog.

The embedded image itself is simple and nice, and you can freely change the size of the image while maintaining the aspect ratio of the photo, so it’s easy to handle…

But I had to rewrite the code properly because the text and images I write underneath are not line breaking… (It might not be usable if it’s as it is because the div tag does something bad)

And it had become a topic of conversation recently in Japan. This was the very first article I introduced here. I’d like to reprint it.

I think it’s probably because it was introduced in great detail on this site and things spread. I also got an account after reading this article.

無理に使うことはないんですが、とにかく見ていて楽しいので、難しいことを考えず気軽に利用していこうと思います。
