(Continued from previous episode)
On the first day, we came to Bastia, the center of the Haute-Cors department in northern Corsica. We arrived at Bastia just after 6:00 p.m., so we still had enough time to relax, but we had just arrived in France.
We parked the car and checked into the hotel. I walked around the town around the hotel until dinner.
I stayed on the port side, which might be better described as a new port.
The area where many tourists such as restaurants are gathered is the old port side, this will go to the next day.
The road signs are the same as in mainland France. I am very relieved to see them because they are the most familiar signs.
This is a guide that is common throughout France, although there are some regional variations.
We had dinner on the first day at this restaurant, which is somewhat far from the center of the city.
The restaurant was slightly more Asian and ethnic than French. It was very delicious.
By the way, here is the location. (I immediately used the new feature from September, Google+ embedding.
The next day, another sightseeing tour of Bastia. The weather looks very good.
We immediately walked towards the old port where we couldn’t go yesterday.
To get from the new port to the old port along the coastline, you’d have to take a tunnel under the sea if you were driving, but
On foot you can walk over it.
There are so many hotels and restaurants around here. I didn’t come this far yesterday, but I’m sure it was lively.
And in about 5 minutes we arrived at the beautiful old harbor that you have seen in the pictures.
A very nice yacht. I want to ride on it.
After enjoying the beautiful view of the harbor, we went to the alley of the old town.
After walking for a while, we arrived at a small square. There was a market going on.
I’d like to go back and buy cheese and stuff like that once.
We finished our tour of Bastia when we circled the city.
Oops, that reminds me, I bought a prepaid SIM on the way back.
I didn’t expect to buy my first prepaid SIM abroad in Corsica.
